Save frozen pictures to Photos
Updated
ColoredEye can save each picture you freeze with the shutter to your photo library, so you can look at it again later. This is off unless you turn it on.
Turn on saving
- Tap Settings, the gear at the top right of the camera screen.
- Under Photos, turn on Save Frozen Images.
- Tap Done.
Now each time you freeze the picture, it's also saved to your photo library.
- The symbol inside the shutter button changes from a lock to a camera, as a reminder that freezing also saves.
- Once a picture is saved, the Choose photo button shows a thumbnail of it.
- The first time ColoredEye saves a picture, iOS asks whether it may add photos to your library. Allow it.
Photos you open with Choose photo are already in your library, so they aren't saved again.
With Save Frozen Images off, a frozen picture is kept only while it's on screen. When you go back to the live camera, ColoredEye lets go of it, and it isn't stored anywhere.
If you see "Error Saving Photo"
ColoredEye isn't allowed to add photos to your library.
- In ColoredEye, tap Settings.
- Under Privacy, tap Camera and Photos Access. This opens ColoredEye's page in the iOS Settings app.
- Tap Photos and choose an option that lets ColoredEye add photos.
- Go back to ColoredEye and freeze again.
Mac: Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos and allow ColoredEye.
If you'd rather not save pictures, turn off Save Frozen Images instead.
Choosing photos doesn't need access
To read colors in a saved photo, you don't need to give ColoredEye any photo access. iOS shows you the photo picker, and ColoredEye only receives the one photo you choose.
