Allow camera access

Updated

ColoredEye needs the camera to read colors live. The first time you open it, iOS asks whether ColoredEye can use the camera. If you didn't allow it, the color card says Camera access is off, and ColoredEye shows Camera Access Denied.

Turn camera access on

  1. In ColoredEye, tap Settings, the gear at the top right of the camera screen.
  2. Under Privacy, tap Camera and Photos Access. This opens ColoredEye's page in the iOS Settings app.
  3. Turn on Camera.
  4. Go back to ColoredEye. If the camera still doesn't appear, close ColoredEye and open it again.

You can also find the same page yourself: open the Settings app and look for ColoredEye. On recent versions of iOS it's under Apps.

Mac: Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera and turn on ColoredEye. Then close ColoredEye and open it again.

Without the camera

You can still identify colors in your saved photos. Tap Choose photo in the bottom bar.

If the camera still doesn't work

If you go back to the camera from a photo and the card says The camera isn't available, the camera still couldn't start. Check that Camera is on, as above, then close ColoredEye and open it again.
