Copy a color's hex and RGB values

Updated

Under the color name, the card shows the color's hex value and its red, green and blue (RGB) values, for example #008080 · 0, 128, 128. VoiceOver reads them as Hex 008080, RGB 0, 128, 128.

Copy from the color card

  1. Put the color under the crosshair. On the live camera the values update every 3 seconds, so for a particular spot, freeze the picture first.
  2. Tap the copy button at the end of the values line. VoiceOver reads it as Copy color values.
  3. The button briefly turns into a checkmark, and VoiceOver says Copied.

This copies both values in one line, for example #008080 (0, 128, 128). Paste it wherever you like.

Copy from the top bar

If you've turned on Show Color in Navigation Bar in Settings › Display, the color is shown in a strip in the top bar instead of the card. At the largest accessibility text sizes the card is always used instead.

  1. Tap the color strip. VoiceOver reads its name and values, and the hint Shows options to copy the color values.
  2. Choose one:
    • Copy followed by the hex value, for example Copy #008080
    • Copy RGB followed by the RGB values, for example Copy RGB 0, 128, 128
    • Copy both, which copies #008080 (0, 128, 128)

On an iPhone held sideways the strip is shorter and shows only the name, but the menu is the same.

Copy from Object Colors

In the Object Colors list, touch and hold a color's row and tap Copy followed by its hex value.
