CloudBak can't read a folder in iCloud Drive

Updated

CloudBak doesn't have permission to read a folder

CloudBak backs up only folders you've granted it. Access can be lost if a folder is moved or replaced. When that happens, CloudBak says it doesn't have permission to read the folder, so its files from the last scan were kept. Until you grant it again, the copies already in the backup stay, but changes to that folder aren't backed up.

  1. Open Settings › iCloud Drive.
  2. Find the folder under Desktop & Documents or App Folders, and turn its switch on again.
  3. Click Grant Access in the window that opens.
  4. Scan iCloud Drive again: click Scan Now on the Selection screen, or choose Backup › Recount iCloud Drive.

See Give CloudBak access to your folders.

An app folder isn't being updated

Only app folders you've turned on are backed up. If one was backed up before but isn't turned on now, Settings › iCloud Drive says Backed up before, but not granted, so its backup isn't being updated. Its copies stay in the backup, but changes to it aren't backed up.

  • To keep backing it up, turn its switch on and click Grant Access.
  • To stop backing it up, deselect it in Selection. Its copies then move to the archive, or are deleted if the archive is turned off.
